As we scale, we are seeking a Chief of Staff (CoS) to serve as a strategic right-hand to our CEO. This role is ideal for a highly driven problem solver who is both commercially minded and technically literate, ready to roll up their sleeves in a dynamic, execution-focused environment.
As Chief of Staff, you will be embedded at the heart of the CEO's agenda, driving CEO-led sales initiatives, liaising with product delivery teams to drive alignment, and ensuring that strategic priorities are communicated and executed efficiently. You will synthesize complex information, coordinate cross-functional teams, create commercial documentation and work closely with a broad range of stakeholders.
The role isn’t for the faint hearted. As an extension to the CEO, you’re there to support the growth of the business, helping launch our first product to market. This is a high-impact role, ideal for someone looking to gain C-suite exposure, working closely with customers and product teams.
Success looks like:

Responsibilities:
Commercial Ops:
- Act as the primary support to the CEO on key sales engagements - helping structure and maintain the go to market plan
- Prepare internal briefings on prospects to ensure effective qualification and preparation for meetings
- Prepare collateral such as pitch decks and proposal documentation for prospective customers
- Drive sales pipeline visibility, tracking, and forecasting, ensuring the CEO is focused on high-impact opportunities
- Develop and maintain contact strategy for warm prospects, including managing the CRM
Operations & Strategy:
- Act as a thought partner to the CEO, helping prioritize initiatives and manage day-to-day leadership cadence when needed
- Drive alignment and tracking of company-wide OKRs, particularly across programme delivery, engineering, and operations.
- Manage the leadership cadence: coordinate key meetings, follow-ups, and information flows to ensure clarity, speed, and accountability.
- Ensure the CEO's time is focused on high-leverage activities by managing inbound requests, meeting prep, and critical decision frameworks.
- Lead discrete special projects and initiatives on behalf of the CEO.
Marketing & Communications:
- Work closely with leadership to shape ZPM’s brand and narrative in line with commercial goals and product milestones.
- Own and drive the company’s marketing and communications strategy, including:
- Website content and roadmap,
- Press and media engagement
- External and internal communications
- Thought leadership and industry visibility
- Supply partners for the above
Investment:
- Support the CEO in preparing and managing the Series A fundraising process, including:
- Creating and refining pitch materials and investor collateral
- Maintaining the investor CRM and tracking all interactions and follow-ups
- Coordinating timeline, milestones, and internal deliverables to keep the fundraise on track
- Supporting investor due diligence with timely, accurate information
- Maintain oversight of R&D tax credit claims, working with finance and technical teams to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage relevant grant opportunities — drafting applications, coordinating stakeholder input, and overseeing reporting obligations
Skills & experience:
Must-Haves:
- 3-7 years of experience in Chief of Staff, Business Operations, Product, or Program Management roles, ideally within deep-tech, semiconductors, or hardware startups
- Proven experience supporting executive-level sales processes, including complex B2B deals with technical buyers
- Strong technical literacy—comfortable engaging in discussions about MEMS devices, ASICs, sensor architectures, and manufacturing processes
- Project management skills - proven ability to drive cross-functional delivery, manage multiple stakeholders, and keep teams aligned in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills—able to translate technical and commercial insights for internal and external audiences
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a start-up environment with evolving priorities
Nice-to-Haves:
- Prior experience working in fabless semiconductor or MEMS companies
- Exposure to foundry relationships and OSAT partnerships
- Familiarity with sales cycles in automotive, consumer electronics, industrial IoT, or healthcare sectors
- MBA or technical Master’s degree a plus.
