The Role

As IT & Infrastructure Engineer, you are the single accountable owner for IT, security, and internal infrastructure at Zero Point Motion.

You define how IT is run. This includes core IT operations, cybersecurity, automation, business systems, and enabling R&D and lab environments safely.

This is not a helpdesk role - but it does require someone who handles the fundamentals flawlessly and takes responsibility when things matter.

What You’ll Do

Core IT, identity & collaboration

• Own and operate identity, access, and collaboration systems (Microsoft Entra / Azure AD, Exchange, SharePoint, Intune).

• Manage Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android environments. Design clear, usable identity and permission models.

Security & operational hygiene

• Implement and maintain endpoint security, MFA, access controls, backups, and disaster recovery.

• Run phishing simulations and security awareness tests.

• Balance strong security with usability - no theatre, no negligence.

• Act as the trusted escalation point for security concerns.

Infrastructure & compute

• Set up and maintain on-prem and cloud infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and backups.

• Support high-performance compute and large data workflows.

• Ensure infrastructure reliably supports simulation, data analysis, and internal tooling.

Automation, AI & productivity

• Aggressively automate IT workflows, onboarding/offboarding, access management, and monitoring.

• Use AI and modern tooling to reduce manual work and increase response speed.

• Continually ask: “Why is a human doing this?”

Business systems ownership

• Own and improve internal systems including HR, finance, CRM, and project management tools.

• Automate integrations and remove friction where tools don’t align.

• Make business software actually work together.

Coding & tooling

• Write scripts and tools (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.) to automate operations, monitor systems, and improve observability.

• Improve reliability and signal across IT systems.

Required Background

You bring:

• Strong, hands-on IT grounding with real operational responsibility.

• Experience with Microsoft Entra / Intune / Exchange / SharePoint.

• Experience managing mixed-OS environments.

• Hands-on cybersecurity experience (not just policies).

• Experience with servers, networking, and infrastructure.

• Scripting or coding ability for automation and tooling.

• Experience supporting R&D, labs, or engineering teams is a strong plus.

• Relevant certifications are important here and treated as a positive signal.
